Tell us about your experience with/connection to Endometriosis I was diagnosed with Endometriosis when I was 16 but suffered from it since I was about 13. I was put on homebound my senior year because the doctors put me on lupron. It was horrible because I missed my prom and almost didnt get to walk across the stage to get my diploma. I had my first lapo in May of 2007 but the doctors said I was eat up with it so bad and it was in areas that couldnt be reached so they just closed me back up. It took me another year and a half to find a surgeon who evaluated me and the situation. I had my second lapo December 31, 2008. I guess I got lucky because they were able to remove 90% of the Endo. It had grown behind my reproduction organs, on my bladder, my intestines, and my appendix. I still have some pain but it's not as bad as it was. They put me on Depo and said I would have to stay on that until I decide to start my family because it would grow back. It runs through both my mothers and fathers side of the family. I am so ready for them to find a cure so my little girl wont have to go through it also.
Quick Bio My name is Nikki and I will be 19 on March 20th. I graduated highschool in 2007. I just started my first semester of college which is great. I have an amazing family who stuck by me through everything. I dont know what I would have done without them. My boyfriend, Barry Bowie, is completely amazing. After my surgery I was able to get back on my feet. I got the old me back which is absolutely wonderful. I'm finally my energetic and outgoing self again and I love it.
