Hospital financial assistance, good for ER too!

Just a little info....Just wanted to make people aware of something I've learned...Many hospitals and outpatient surgery clients offer financial assistance. The catch-22 is they don't offer....UNLESS YOU ASK!! Just ask if they offer financial assistance, and if they have a form available when you check in for surgery or ER treatment. If they don't have the form when you check in for surgery have the person who is waiting for you go check. With my last surgery with the financial assistance from the hospital and my insurance I only had to pay $300. Forms can differ from simple to complex. The trick is you have to wait until all your bills come in!

    this is very true the hospital will help you based on your finances... even if you do have insuranace... lastyear i was in the ER over 5 times and had 2 emergency surgeries...trust me its better then paying the whole thiing on your own...
