Bloating/Swollen Belly

Lately my stomach looks like it is swollen/bloated. People keep commenting on it..probably because I'm on skinnier  side. When I put my bathing suit on today..it looked like i was just starting off in a pregnancy..when there is no chance that I am..it just looks like it.
Does anyone have this issue??

My pain was so severe in the last week that I went to the ER last Wednesday night. They did an ultra sound and found a cyst on my left ovary but that's not what's causing my pain. I'm on 2 pain killers, a anti spasm med, and an antibiotic. I think that my endo is back. It has been a year since my last surgery..which was when I was diagnosed.

Do you think my endo is back??

Do you bloat/swell??

Thanks.

I was diagnosed with Celiac disease over a yr ago now. I have to avoid gluten, but I also avoid dairy and red meat and my bloating isnt as bad. I still experience some now at times, but mainly only with periods and not as bad. Have you noticed if its worse when you eat certain things? Have they ruled out anything serious? Hope you find some answers and find relief. I pray for a cure for all of us!

I am going through the same thing. I went to the ER last Thursday for pain and nausea. They did an x ray and found nothing and blood work that found nothing. I was put on a pain med and ibprofen 800 and that is it. I had my annual/follow up for a cyst Tuesday and my gyn said my ultrasound was fine but I was told that I had a complex cyst on my left ovary and this was to see if it was still there you know to check on it. I was so frustrated because I gained more weight and I don't know why. I have a swollen belly too but my gyn just said everything is fine and put me on Loestrin and said come back in a year. I called my primary about the cyst because they were the ones that told me about it and said I need to get that checked out and that I should either follow up or get a second opinion. I am going for a second opinion because I feel something isn't right in my body and I don't think bcp's are the answer. Sorry so long and I hope that you get the help you need. I know that I am not skinny but gaining weight and looking pregnant is horrible and I want something to be done but drs don't want to listen it seems.

I have a swollen belly about 1 week out of month.  I am Stage 4 and I have also went into the ER for this.  I am told it is just IBS.  It hurts and I look about 8 months pregnant when it happens.  I am on the small side so when it happens I have a few outfits I where so I will not be asked when I am due.  I have a 9 year old son and am no longer able to have children so it is a very emotional time for me when I look like I am expecting.  I wish I had a answer to why this happens to you but I do not.  I feel for you and hope you get a relief.  Have you been to a GI doc?  I take a half of bottle of Miralax a day to have semi normal bowels and it does help with bloating.  My doc said that is about all he can do for me right now. I am not suggesting at all that you or anyone on here do this.

I had a swollen belly too.  It varies day to day.  The inflammation from the endo causes a lot of swelling and fluid collection in the abdoman.  I am a triathlete and I look 7 months pregnant some days..............

i have to agree with the swollem belly. not only do i look about 6 months pregnant when this happens, but its also hard and hurts to try and hold it in. it has to be the endo.

i get bloated as well.  It seems like an everyday occurance.  Its hard and very round.  I have gained like 10-15 pounds in the last six months ( i am blaming a switch in birth control and endo for that as i have not changed my diet or habits at all ).  But nearly every night- i look pregnant as well.  I hate going out to dinner because i always end up in the restroom with my shirt pulled tight over my belly standing sideways like "Whoa! Am i 6 months pregnant?"  I have always been on the rail thin side so dealing with the extra disribution of weight and bloating is a little rough.  I havent been able to find a cause for it.  I completely understand having different clothes to wear during those bloated times- i have stocked up in dresses as they are not as tight as the jeans and shorts i usually wear.

    Hi Nicole,

I too am on the rail thin side and my stomach is constantly swollen.  Like everyone else i look atleat 6 months pregnant.  Some days the bloat is so bad, that i feel like my sides are ripping and i have to hold my belly for support and i feel like i waddle like a pregnant woman.

    Hello,

I have been swollen for years. I do not have IBS. Doctors do not seem to realize that this is a common symptom for us.

I totally agree with Endopeg, I was sent to GI's, who send me back to the gyno, then back to another GI. It's a viscious cycle. I ahve two different sizes of clothes in my closet.
